Measuring current on a CT secondary circuit
In some cases, measuring actual current on the primary conductor is not possible and the user may have to measure current on the secondary circuit of a CT. In this case, the MPQ can be programmed to display the actual primary current values instead of the current measured on the CT secondary circuit. This is done by following the steps given below.

Introduction to harmonics
There is a great deal of importance placed on harmonics. We know that excessive harmonic distortion can cause power quality problems due to the heat generated. These power quality problems can include neutral wires, transformers, as well as motors overheating. But what exactly are harmonics?

EN50160 Report
The EN50160 test is a European standard that specifies the main characteristics of the voltage at a network user's supply terminal. The standard applies to public low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage AC electricity networks under normal operating conditions. In the UK, the test is known as a BS50160 test.

Determining harmonic direction
Harmonics are caused by non-linear loads. Linear loads draw a linear current that follows the changing voltage of the AC waveform. Non-linear loads draw current pulses periodically, which creates distorted waveforms.
